But before you start submitting your stories, read through our step-by-step guidelines below:

Step 1: Introduce Yourself

To submit your draft, you must first be accepted as one of our writers. So, drop us an email to contact@ricksoft-inc.com with the subject line “Project Manager’s Planet New Writer Request.” Also include links to your Medium account (complete with author bio) and other social media accounts. You’ll get a notification once we’ve added you as one of our writers.

Step 2: Start Writing

First things first, always follow Medium’s Content Guidelines. Make sure you story is related to at least one of the topics listed above. The target word count is 800–1200. Alternatively, you can also write a story pitch to get an initial assessment of the suitability of your story for our publication. Please proofread your stories before you submit.

Step 3: Submit Your Draft or Story Pitch

To submit your unpublished draft or story pitch, simply click on the ellipses next to the green “Ready to publish?” box and click “Add to publication.” Choose Project Manager’s Planet from the list of publications and click “Add draft.” Your draft is now pending for review from our team of editors. Note that review time varies.

Step 4: Edits and Suggestions for Refinements

We use Private Notes function to communicate any edits or suggestions about your story. Please have the function turned on in your settings. We reserve the right to edit your story (grammar, spelling, and formatting) for better clarity as well as to add relevant photos, sections, etc.

Step 5: Publish and Share Your Submitted Story

Once both you and our editorial team are happy with the finalized draft, we’ll publish it. Feel free to share the published story link on your social networks to get more exposure to your work!

More FAQs right below:

FAQs

Do we accept stories that were previously published on other websites?

We want your stories to get the coverage they deserve. To do that, we (and Medium’s algorithm) prefer unpublished drafts.

Do we allow you to reproduce content submitted to us on your own website?

Due to Google’s strict penalties towards duplicate content, we cannot allow you to republish the same content on your own website. But you are encouraged to share the Medium story link in your social media accounts.

Do we accept non-English language stories?

As of now, we only accept and review English language stories for submission.

When will you hear from us?

Please give us 3 to 5 business days from the day you submitted the draft for us to review. We will let you know if the review takes longer or your submission is not accepted.

Do we accept vendor-sponsored stories?

Unfortunately, no.

Hope you’re pumped up to start submitting stories to us. We’re looking forward to reading and sharing your submission!
