If you’re using a computer all day, you probably have Forward Head Posture
This is going to be a quick one.
Forward Head Posture, or FHP, is a postural problem where your head has moved far forward from the center of the shoulders. This causes all sorts of problems, including headaches, neck pain, shoulder pain, back pain, allergies, insomnia, disc degeneration, and more.
The bad news is, if you’re working at a computer all day, driving a lot, or carrying a purse or backpack, there’s a good chance you’re affected by FHP.


A good test to see if you have FHP is to stand against a wall and try to touch the back of your head to the wall. If you find yourself tilting your head back to achieve this, then you probably have FHP.
I’m still attempting to correct my own head posture, but I’ve found that not everything works. Doing one recommended set of stretches twice per day did nothing for me. However, I recently tried using a mix of stretching and exercising recommended here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQylqaCl8Zo. This seems to be far more effective for me, though the final jury is still out.
Also keep in mind that FHP is commonly accompanied by Upper Crossed Syndrome, where your shoulders are rotated forward. It’s worth picking up a routine to fix that condition as well, for similar reasons.
Plus, you’ll look taller and more athletic. :)
