📚 What has motivated you or what motivates you?
Working in marketing, on my screenwriting projects and short stories. That motivates me. I feel more confident into where I fit into this world of books and screenwriters and movies and TV shows.
And I think I believe more in myself than I used to. I’m so much more confident than I was before. I’m no longer terrified if I mess up because I know that if I write something that doesn’t work, it’s fine. I can learn from that.
Whereas before, I used to be so terrified, I wouldn’t even try. I would think: What if I suck at this? What if I’m not good? And what if I don’t make the cut? You’ll never know if you don’t try.
Now I push myself a lot more than I used to, I used to be in very comfortable places where I wouldn’t need to push myself.
You already have the no, so why don’t go out there, knock some doors, and try to find a yes? If you’re not doing something to get the yes, then you’re never going to get a yes. I now know that a “no” doesn’t mean that I’m failing. It just means that there’s something I need to work on. I’m now more patient with what I want than I used to be.
