“Build a house, where people will come!”

Imagine, if you were one of the early adopters of Instagram or Snapchat or Twitter. Don’t you think, you would have way more followers than you do now?

Take Advantage

“People replicate existing People, under ambiguous circumstances”

Whenever a person enters a new environment, the first thing they try to do is to replicate the best. Now if you happen to jump on to a wagon early — your probability to be that “best”, increases due to the minimalistic competition that is in existence at that very moment & every simple things you do in that platform becomes a trend, in some way. So basically, it is like investing in a high-potential, low-cost stock/share.

Now if you are someone looking to take advantage of a new “trend” in social media — look no further — audio is here!

“Radio is back, in a totally new avatar”

Remember the olden days when radios were the primary source of entertainment & news (a different kind of entertainment, btw), when interviews, and talk-shows ruled the platforms and advertising jingles promoted almost every household product?

With the advent of technology, we are heading back to that era — #AudioEra

The Podcast fever is coming to India.

Why don’t you check your own Social feed.
Here in India, there is rise in popularity of using “musical.ly” which was a trend in countries like USA 2 years ago. In fact, even Facebook had a similar story.
Similarly, Podcasts has taken over the global arena and now it’s all ready to hit India

According to Statista, in 2016 the average number of monthly podcast listeners was approximately 58 million and is expected to rise up to 112 million by 2021.

(Fun fact: Musical.ly started as an educational social network!)

Audio content grants a specific “freedom” to its Audience.

To begin with, mostly you listen to audio pieces from devices stuck to your body, like a headphone or earpiece, that’s how personal it can get :P

On a serious note, Audio is one the most intimate and personal content available, because when you “listen” to something, you are free to imagine the visuals, they way you prefer.
It is like being hypnotized by a magician.

“Audio content provides a convenience that no other can provide”

Perhaps the best thing about an audio content piece is that you can listen to it even as you go along doing your regular chores — eg: gym, grooming, driving, cooking etc.

“Audio gives the audience the true power of multi-tasking”
It doesn’t require you to sit in front of a display to understand the message or to be amused. It is the same kind of freedom that the mobile phone provided when compared to its predecessor — the landline.

Audio Search is the future.

“People will use their voice more often to get an answer, using products like Amazon Echo, Google Home or just their personal mobile phones. There is a trend where audio will be more searchable,” said Louis Granier to Adweek

Even though in India it has not really hit-off but Audio Search is where we are heading to. The fact that apps like Gaana have both adopted and aggressively promoting “audio” search indicates that.

Finally, I want to leave you with these powerful words of the best digital oracle I know, Gary Vaynerchuk “There was roughly 1.5X more audio consumed than video according to Nielsen statistics on streaming in 2016. This is HUGE. If you’re medium is voice, now is your time. Start creating today. Start a podcast, turn your blog posts into audio, develop an Alexa skill or start experimenting with Google Home. Before AR and VR and AI, audio is going to be the next major platform shift for consumer attention. It’s here today! What are you going do?”

Thank You
