ProMazo provides students the structure to work on real-life projects and collaborate with senior-level executives at the nation’s top companies — all during the school year from campus while continuing their studies.

MIT masters of finance students Daisy Jiang, Shirley Liu and Nick Fazzari jumped at the opportunity. Teaming up with ProMazo Founder Brett Hummel and Engagement Leader Evan Doney, the students had the chance to do work for Charles Schwab.

A drastic change from the typical student lifestyle, this project provided the trio an escape from the weekly problem sets and projects. After a three-day trip to San Francisco to meet and work alongside the full-time traders at Charles Schwab, they returned to campus to continue their studies while simultaneously working on the project with ProMazo.

With limited experience prior to starting the project, the students were excited to jump into a fast-paced environment. They quickly learned to leverage their technical skills and apply their expertise from academia to problem-solve for senior-level executives at one of the world’s largest and most trusted financial institutions.

The project was a powerful learning experience for Jiang:

“One day spent with the team [taught me] more than what I could have learned from a one-month internship.”
