2023: Island of Promises
Ocean of Fulfillments
There’s always a gift, waiting to be given,
through the sunny lines of fate upon a bushel;
A frozen smile hoping to let go of the hurt —
pounding on her heart in cold blood;
A misty weather locked out of time,
in the midst of spiral forces grounded
within the headquarters of unsettling questions;
What to do? to say? to ask? to dig? to create? How?
within a week, each over fifty-two spins.
There’s always a metallic list to open up
and a wooden paper to throw away;
name them — habits, fear, and barriers.
A tweeting call awaiting a solid response,
a flower thirsty for the sun’s radiant
clothing upon her fluttering petals,
A reckless love that must be mailed
through oceans, islands, and clouds.
Somewhere, in between the deepest
of thirsty tastes and dreamy desires,
there is always a striking revolution sealed
with the unchanging armour of truth
and a light that must glow
in versions free and unfiltered.
