A vacation is what I need,

Before I collapse

Completely and

Decide life is lifeless.

Even eating has lost its lustre

For the foodie that I am!

God willing, I can escape someplace

Heavenly in its quietness

In India or outside it

Jet-lagged for a time, or,

Kindle happiness on a sunlit beach, and

Light up my life again!

Meet people again, perhaps

Next to a pub or theatre,

Open, at last, and welcoming,

Perhaps, watch a play, every evening as I was wont to

Question the way I’ve been living

Realising that I need

Society more than society needs me.

Take myself off to happening spaces,

Uptown, or downtown, how does it matter?

Vacation is what vacation does

What does it matter where?

Xmas time, or New Year

Year round, or just once,

…zest for living starts here!
