There was a difference
always and forever
and I don’t know what
to do

There is a difference
always and forever
between what is me,
and what is you

And I don’t know how
to correct the course
I don’t know how to show
myself
because while I want to be
me
all you see is
someone else

And the contrast couldn’t be clearer
between who I am and who you see;
because while you see me that way,
you never really see me

Prompt from the creative Dr. Casey Lawrence:

Bonus Prompt — Write a ‘contrast’ poem, flash fiction (<500 words), or essay.

(…Yes, I am way behind on the chronological prompts. No, I do not care! Lol.)
