Beltane Feast

Free Verse poetry

We’d gather on a farm early morn
baskets, ribbons and children in tow
an odd lot of pagans, wiccans and SCA*
all in costumes, ready for May Day

The men set up the May pole
piled wood up for the nightly bonfire
then jostled in the fields
and played drums and bagpipes
