Blooms of Courageous Strength
Honor and Respect
fruits of labor paint
kaleidoscope of colors
blooms courageous strength
uniformed cadence marches
serving country side meadows
chosen branch defines
soldier seedlings hopeful dreams
sprouting freedom reins
growing massive privilege
respect and honor unfold

Happy Monday ladies — Christine Graves and Ravyne Hawke! As we approach Memorial Day, my thoughts often drift to military family and friends who have passed on. None that I knew passed during their time of service, but I saw the after-effects of the service they carried.
My fondest memory and gift was one friend in particular. He had carried severe PTSD within his heart for years. Dishonored and tossed away in solitary confinement for refusing a direct order that he knew would put his company in danger, they stripped him of his stripes and his rights and discharged him.
When he passed, so many things had changed, wrongs trying to be righted. I contacted an advocate and we buried him with his rank restored, posthumously granted medals and full honors.
I often wondered what his life would have been if he had received those when he was alive.
It reminds me all the time to always honor those that have served!
