“How is it that I’ve been working for Jaden Chemicals for 12 years and never got a raise?” Milo wondered.

He’d been working for the company since he was 18 years old and now turning 30 and about to get married, he realized that something was wrong with this company or was it just him?

Milo started out making $15/hr. At the time it seemed like a lot of money for a kid, but as time went on — it was bullsh*t!

Since the company was still small, if you wanted something, you had to speak directly to the owner. This made Milo nervous. He’d received several emails from the boss over the years and none of them had been kind.

“Milo. your performance is less than stellar and at least twice this year, you’ve been late,” one email said.

“Milo, you look tired. That’s a poor reflection on the company. You should look as good as I do everyday,” said another one.

And the one that bothered him the most.

“Milo, my son will be taking over your position, so we’ll have to find something else for you to do. This may come at a pay cut, but for now — train him!!”
