Drowning Me

So frequently I cannot be saved

There you are — raging again
a storm hellbent on destruction
and I lie wasted in your path

Your anger beats and batters
my already fragile mind
a thousand hailstones falling

The screaming, screaming
like lightning, courses through
shocking my entire being

These storms only increase
once months apart, now weekly
there is no calming you

How can you claim to love me
as torrents of anger rain down
drowning me, drowning me?
