From Zero to Thousand
Free Verse
I’ve never felt so weightless
As when I stood at the edge of nothing,
A void beneath my feet,
A sky stretched thin above my head.
From zero, I began,
A whisper in the vastness,
With no direction, no pull —
Just the quiet hum of possibility.
It’s the feeling of air slipping past,
Rushing against my skin as I rise,
From nothing to something,
From stillness to flight.
The world, once distant,
Now spirals into view —
Colors swirl, lines blur,
Everything moving faster,
Like a pulse quickening in my veins.
The ground beneath me grows small,
A speck, forgotten in the distance.
I’m floating in the speed of change,
From zero to a thousand beats,
Each one louder than the last.
The wind carries me higher,
Each breath a spark igniting
The blaze of life in my chest,
The rush of sky filling my lungs,
As the stars blaze like fireflies
In the blackened stretch of night.
I’ve never felt so alive,
Moving from zero to thousand
In the blink of an eye —
A flash of light in the endless dark.
The weight of the world below
Slips away,
And I am nothing,
And I am everything
All at once.
The space between breaths,
Between heartbeats,
Between everything I’ve ever known —
It stretches wide,
And I fill it with life,
With the rush of being
From zero
To thousand.
