Go, Tell It On The Mountain

Go, tell it on the mountain.
Walk over the hills and everywhere.
Go, tell it on the mountain.
We don’t want that news face to face.

Stay, remain in your bubble.
We’ll Zoom in for the news, if we can.
Stay, remain by yourself.
Maybe send an email and bullet point the highlights.

Go, tell it on the mountain.
Share your loneliness and frustrations with the winds.
Go, tell it on the mountain.
No one can hear the desperation in your soul.

Stay, sequester yourself behind walls.
Gaze at the photos on cards you receive.
Stay, cocooned another year.
Find a show to binge-watch and forget you’re alone.

Go, tell it on the mountain.
Over the hills and everywhere.
Go, tell it on the mountain.
We’re tired of being afraid.

Please.
Do what you need to do to stay safe.
Limit crowds.
Wear a mask.
Get the jabs and the boosters.
Wash your hands.
Hold on…
