Let’s toast with the family chianti!
Mia familia mangia con gusto
Genovese pasta con pesto
Papa, may I be excused?
Hey Franco, chew your food
Papa, but I have a date!
If he respects you, he will wait
Aunt Maria, you're sitting so quiet
Forgive her, she’s on a diet
Mama can't hear herself think
she just smiles and sips her drink.
Her family is together.
Growing up in a Greek and Italian household we always celebrated holidays with tons of family and tons of food. It was loud!!! My Mom loved nothing more than to have her entire family together for holidays and especially on Thanksgiving.
Christmas always meant cooking together, sharing love and laughter throughout the day with the loud food feast being the finale. Mom would sit and smile with such joy at the chaos going on at the dinner table.
Though I’ve had many happy memories of the holidays, this is the one that brings me the most joy. Her family together sharing made my Mom’s heart smile.
