There come moments here on medium when we feel overwhelmed by other people’s articles. Reading great work we may end up comparing ourselves with others. We may end up not reading them again. After all, we are here to write and be read by others. Right?

But we deny agreeing to the simple fact that this is the same reason everyone else is here for!

There would be a mountain of such articles that you can easily find are

— better than yours,

— being well written,

— better vocabulary,

— better sentences

— better story, etc, etc. The list goes on and on.

It is so intriguing that it makes me feel like a tortoise sometimes that wants to slowly… creep back into its shell... Not to be seen anymore.

This challenge on Coffee times has received such great entries. Take for example this article by Suma Narayan

Do you see the beautiful use of storytelling where you can easily relate to the purpose of writing the story? And in no time you are lost in the writing. It is so beautifully designed.

Another one by Ilana Lydia here, who is also a member of our writer’s group and actively supports other members as well. Feel free to leave a query to join our group with fellow members Angie Smartt, MN, Julie Green, Meliha Avdic.

You’d be delighted to read through the cuteness of the little train engine and get the message at the same time. Do stop by their articles as well and leave claps and your heartiest comments.

All these sweet people who give shoutouts to others while delivering superb content are already superstars. Don’t you agree?

Everybody bringing the best dish to the table and still uplifting each other is such a powerful move.

I’ve found so many great writers myself because of this shoutout method where people leave their comments and claps for other like-minded people as well such as

So many other names that I don’t even remember right now and I’m going to die thinking about the people I’ve left unmentioned right now.😬

When you shout out to someone it shows you are powerful, you believe in the power of uplifting others with you, and most of all… you truly appreciate their work.

Building a community is a two-way process. You have to give first, to receive kindness.

Don’t you see ants? One ant can lift an equivalent of 50 times of its own weight but when all of them work together, they even eat the biggest of animals. The flesh-eating ants when working together, even kill humans as well. Dangerously scary but unity is strength.

This might be overwhelming to appreciate the better work, we are all human. Feeling intrigued is built in our system but doing something for others, just by your words, feels powerful and satisfactory.

— Don’t we appreciate our friends?

— Don’t we choose our friends to be kind like us? ( if we are kind enough, supposedly)

— Don’t we want our friends to be seen and heard for their great work?

We all do.

Through shout-outs, we are building a strong friendship. You never know when one of the shoutouts you give is going to change someone’s life and it costs you nothing. What a great superpower is that!

It is the smallest act of kindness to add to your day to feel empowered today. Don’t hold back.

Together we grow.

A shoutout to Winston for this amazing platform and challenge at coffee times.
