30 Poems in 30 Days
Lucky Number 7
Poem the seventh
Days in a week, the fourth prime,
roll two dice, that one’s mine:
Jeri Ryan, License to Kill,
Heads Up, Hands Up: what a thrill.
Deadly sins and sacraments,
ancient wonders and continents.
Happy, Bashful, Grumpy, Sneezy,
Dopey, Doc, and always Sleepy.
My favourite number’s one odd duck,
but give it time: I’ll have good luck.
This poem was written as part of a challenge (to myself) to write 30 poems in 30 days to celebrate turning 30. If you’d like to join me in writing a poem a day from March 6–April 5, use the Medium tag “30dayswritingchallenge” and mention me @clawrenc so I can read your poems.
Send me your best poetry-writing prompts. I have lots to choose from Promptly Written, but if you feel inspired, write a prompt in the comments!
