My Beach Epiphany

The daily special — Nov 10th poetry prompt

There I was on the beach,
With topaz sun rays warming my skin.
I sat there contemplating my life’s shrewd moments,
And trying to fathom my gut-wrenching emotions.

But then I thought to myself,
The waves don’t question its movement.
It partakes the sand every time it kisses the shore,
Leaving behind its gift from the ocean’s core.

I then realised what life was trying to teach me,
That I mustn’t question the wretched moments.
That I must simply live through it all,
As in the end I will realise why I had to fall.

So, since that epic epiphany on the beach,
I live life as it was meant to be.
When I feel low and land up in a dark place,
I visit the beach to slow down my mind’s pace.

So, the next time you feel overwhelmed with life,
Take a walk with nature in the day or night.
I promise you nature is always there to help,
Only if we try and observe what it is trying to tell.

Thank you Ravyne Hawke for another thought-provoking prompt.

I had a lot of fun while writing this prompt. The challenge of using the words mentioned in the list was a lot of fun. Thank you for your creative writing prompts and this platform to share our creativity and most importantly helping us beat writer’s block.
