“My Heart Paralysed” captures the sensation of emotional paralysis brought on by uncertainty and unexpressed feelings. The speaker’s heart feels immobilised, weighed down by unspoken words and a sense of hopelessness. Despite external light and new beginnings, their inner world remains frozen and shadowed. The poem expresses a longing for a renewal, a thawing that will bring warmth and freedom to their paralysed heart.

A sudden stillness,
like winter’s breath,
grips my heart,
cold fingers of uncertainty,
tightening their hold.

Each beat,
a struggle against the weight,
of a thousand unspoken words,
lodged in the throat,
a silent scream,
echoing in the void.

Eyes open to the world,
yet seeing nothing,
a blur of colours and shapes,
meaningless,
in the paralysis of feeling.

Dreams once vibrant,
now frozen in time,
shattered pieces of a mosaic,
scattered on the floor,
beyond repair.

The dawn breaks,
but the light does not reach,
the corners of my mind,
where shadows linger,
and hope hesitates to tread.

Caught in the stillness,
my heart waits,
for the thaw of spring,
for the touch that revives,
for the breath that frees.
