I pervert time
with my acidic tongue.
Around your heart,
my angst wraps -
suffocating, annihilating.
Still you remain
tied to my bitterness,
hanging on as if my tempest
filled your heart with pleasure.
Your desire to wear my mask
amuses me, stokes the fire
inside that unleashes this rage.

Written for a prompt by Ravyne Hawke — Write a moody poem based on one of these emotions — bewildered, cantankerous, enthralled, or melancholy. I chose cantankerous.
