Merlin had nearly finished his creation of the Citadel. It had taken him from one full moon to the one tonight to make his fortress for Arthur complete. It was built upon the mountain that contained within it the Tombs of Time. Powerful forces were being deliberately aligned by Merlin. This is where Merlin would now rest until needed again for everything was quiet. Just runes to inscribe in the Citadel's main hall and Arthur would be secure for now.

He lowered his staff and a beam of orange light began to incise deep configurations into the ceiling and the surrounding walls. Merlin was creating an enchantment that would forge a link between, the health of Arthur and the health and well-being of the land. It could only be broken by a most powerful counter-enchantment. Not the death of Arthur but the denial of him and the denial of memory. Of all that had happened and of all that will.

Merlin was now nearly drained of his power but there was still one more important bulwark against the darkness that he must make happen. A real organic link between the Land and the One True King. He called to his granddaughter,

Rhiannon? Come to me. Quickly
