Not My Parents’ Colors

Violet Poetry Challenge

My father had shoes so cool
They were suede, soft and blue.
His hero crooned ‘Don’t be cruel’
At times he wasn’t; to give him his due.

My step-mom’s hair was bouffant-ed in a puff
Teased and ratted with a comb.
A coppery red sprayed Aqua Net tough
Whenever she left our home.
