30 Poems in 30 Days
On the Balcony
Poem the eleventh
A cool breeze,
springtime sneeze;
Drying linens;
Empty tea tins;
Outward the curtain
billows for certain;
Waving, greeting;
Extra seating;
Inquisitive birdie
in no hurry;
Finally, laugher:
we’ll close it after.
This poem was written as part of a challenge (to myself) to write 30 poems in 30 days to celebrate turning 30. If you’d like to join me in writing a poem a day from March 6–April 5, use the Medium tag “30dayswritingchallenge” and mention me @clawrenc so I can read your poems.
From the prompt: “Write a poem about ordinary things,” which I cannot find a link to but definitely saw on my hunt through the PW archive.
If you feel inspired, write a prompt in the comments!
