Ochien: oyster dish
Submerged in a pool of oil
Slippery chopsticks
This haiku is in response to the mid-week micro madness #2 prompt by Ravyne Hawke and VerityAlways.
The thought of oysters prompted fond memories of annual trips to my hometown, Malacca. The only time I could eat my favourite dish. Memories of eating Ochien included seating at a wonky plastic round table at a food court just a block away from my grandfather’s house.
