Promise Filled Winds
“Breeze” Word-A-Day Challenge
She stands near the ledge,
with just the thoghts
in her head.
There’s so much
to be said,
not enough ears
to actually listen.
No need for advice,
She has to make the final decision.
Will she follow the promises hinted in the wind?
Or lift her foot to take her final step toward the end?
The promises slowly blowing past.
They do feel comforting,
but feelings are not facts.
The ledge has been a friend for so long,
but not all friendships made
are meant to go on.
Thoughts of blackness,
they use to be inviting.
Now, there’s this light
that keeps them in hiding.
She looks over her shoulder.
He’s patiently waiting.
He doesn’t rush or make her hurry.
For he knows the choice
She has to make is grueling.
He turns away,
as to not influence her mind or
cause her to sway.
The wind picks up, her hair creates
a thin cloak framing her face.
She takes a deep breath.
She can feel the changes in the breeze,
inspiring.
He feels it too, there’s a bitter cold bite in the wind.
He turns around just in time to see her,
- Taking her final step off the edge.
- Walking gracefully towards him.
I wanted this ending to be your choice, to possibly shed some in light on your attitude or thinking, your choice is most likely to be influenced by your current life circumstances and/or past experiences creating a bias that taints your thinking. What will her ending be? Tragedy or chance? Pain or hope? Love or despair?
The choice is yours.
