Welcome to Week 5 of Prompt Yourself 2025 at Promptly Written! I have recently returned to Sweden after going home to Canada for the holidays, and I’ve been thinking about the word “return.”

Literally, “return” sounds like “to turn again,” like the earth turns each day. We turn and turn and return like Odysseus, coming back to the same places again. We also return items to the store, return to the scene of the crime, return to sender, get diminishing returns on investments, receive tax returns... What a word!
