Welcome to the eighteenth week of writing prompts here at PW. And it is the first week of May — hard to believe it is already May, right? Outside my window, the world is blooming, and the mother birds are busily gathering food for their babies. The scents and sounds are exhilarating! And I hope that all of you are filled with amazing sights, scents, and sounds, too — wherever you call home. And now, let’s see if we cannot arouse our muses!

Reminder #1 — You do not have to use just PW’s prompts to submit work here. We accept prompted work from any publications’ prompts. You also do not have to use prompts to submit your work here. We are also an open publication for established and new writers.

Reminder #2 — Please be sure to use the correct Reader Interest Tags when you submit your pieces so your work lands in their perspective places on the homepage. They are — Poetry, Fiction, Essay, or Articles. Please only use ONE, not multiple. Your other four tags can be whatever you wish them to be.

Reminder #3 — Please ONLY submit drafts. To do this, once you have finished your piece, instead of hitting the Publish button, click on the three dots (…), choose Add to Publication…
