Shades of Me

Violet Poetry Challenge

In a purple passion play
I make a world in which to stay
And dream about another day
Where I have been set free.

Weaving words of lilac lace
Carving out a special place
Finding time within the space
A chance to turn the key.

Violet vocal tones emerge
Something deep I need to purge
Dark and light can now converge
For everyone to see.

Blending with the indigo
Trying to put on a show
Of what I do and do not know
And show the shades of me.

Christine Graves has been writing online for more than 25 years. She’s written fiction, non-fiction, and poetry, and knows she’s never too old to learn.

A special thanks to Roselyn Violet for creating such a colorful challenge. And a huge shoutout to Ravyne Hawke for bringing it to our attention and for all the wonderful work she’s done to create such an inspiring home.

Well done, ladies.
