Shattered Windows, Broken Glass

A mystery poem

Look, honey, someone gouged out the eyes
of Guthrie’s Hardware, that blocky business owned
by a block of a man. Glass scattered like shattered
corneas and conjunctivas, all the life gone
as inside the store, the hardware weeps gently.
