high above the clouds
orange and fiery red sky
adventure awaits
This poem was written in response to Promptly Written’s poetry theme Journey. I recently got the opportunity to visit my family in a different state. I’ve been unable to do so for almost a year. This trip was long overdue. I am grateful for the many ways in which we can travel. Flying specifically gets me there quicker. It was a late afternoon flight and we had a beautiful view of the sunset. The sky was ablaze in orange and red before darkness took over. What a great opportunity this theme gave me to share this experience in the form of poetry.
