Stay Forever Young

I hit 30,
On the 28th of April.
I am nowhere close to what I imagined my life to be,
But then I think, I am exactly where I am supposed to be.

However, something struck me,
While I was dancing away with my friends.
I feel young all over again,
And excited for everything.

That simple meal,
That drive on the street.
That movie scene,
That smile that lit the room because of me.

My loud laugh,
My twinkling eyes,
Over watching two birds,
Fight and then make love.

I feel like a child,
Or my inner child just woke up.
Whatever may be the case,
My younger self,
Just re-appeared again.

As we grow,
We become young.
We learn to celebrate life,
As we mature and learn,
That every day is a new chapter,
Of the book of our life.

So, stay forever young,
Even though your age seems otherwise.
Stay curious,
Just like a pure child’s mind.
Then you will know,
That no matter how life tests your soul.
You will be victorious,
Because smiled through the storm.
