An Ekphrastic Haiku series, based on the Monthly Theme

Thank You, Painting by Monoreena Acharjee Majumdar

The mind creates seeds
That we know nothing about
Fed by hopes and dreams.

Stone, on water, thrown,
Almost untouched, dancing, skips,
Ripples form, unseen.

Is the stone the cause?
Or is it the catalyst?
Will the ripples talk?

So joy and sorrow,
Planted by yesterday’s seeds
Learn to bloom, today.

Acknowledging the multi-talented genius of one of my favourite Medium writers, Monoreena Acharjee Majumdar. The image I have used here is formed of her brushstrokes, and her imagination.

This is a response to the Monthly Theme Prompt, ‘Sowing Seeds.’
