In the heart of Maharashtra, India, is Utan. In Utan, is the 180 acre Keshav Shrusti complex measuring approximately 180 acres of prime, forest land. I have not been there before: and, were it not for Mohit Gadia, one of the kids I taught 31 years ago, I would probably never have.

One of my paragliding, solo-trip friends, Deepa, had come down to Mumbai, from Bengaluru, and wanted to see a place with a difference. It was Mohit who suggested that we go to Keshav Shrusti.

Also, the person who looks after them is of the opinion that mechanical milking will hurt the skin on the udders.

Mohit went to the vegetable market at 7 am and filled the boot with 500 Rs worth of spinach and lettuce, and fed the cows with these very choice morsels…
