The Lonely Suitor’s Club
It’s a paycheck, dude.
From day…to night, she thought as she applied her last bit of red lipstick.
She hadn’t been doing this long, but she wasn’t making enough money at her new job yet to make ends meet on her own in the city. Her roommate up and left, she didn’t really have much of a social life, and she certainly didn’t want to give up the chance of a lifetime climbing her way up to “top dog” level at work.
Stupid name given by a bunch of stupid guys, but she wanted it. Desperately.
She glanced at the time. “OK. Time to go in, Sander.”
Becoming an online companion wasn’t something she ever aspired to be. The truth is, she had never heard of such a thing. It wasn’t until she noticed her roommate doing it for extra money that she learned of its existence.
“But is it, like, doing online porn or whatever?” Sander had asked.
“Oh my God, no.”
“Do you talk dirty?”
Tracy cleared her throat. “I mean, well. Sometimes they try, depending on who you get.”
“I imagine the lines are pretty blurred.”
“Well, they can be, I guess. It is the Internet.”
