The Narcissist
The Daily Special — Nov 26th (Promptly Written)
Shocked tears, bouts of vulnerability;
Behold, there you came knowing what to say,
Shocked feelings of worth did overcome me;
But blocked my sight of minds you tried to sway.
Oh, you eyed your prize and you played them all,
Attempting to convince them of my blame.
You were obsessed; me—at a frozen crawl.
I was the problem; that was your false claim.
And then when I needed you most, you fled;
Disgusted that I couldn’t give you more.
In truth, to me, what we had was long dead,
The deal was sealed when you called me a whore.
Each day I see a reminder of you;
But to trust you again, I’ll never do.
