The Struggle
Just a simple poem about the current situation some (especially those close by) are having with finding work at the moment.
Work hard,
Keep your head down.
Tow the company line;
A new point on your resumé.
Laid off.
Adapt,
Update yourself.
Get help for betrayal;
A new point on your resumé.
Apply.
Denied,
Disheartening.
Thousand resumés sent;
A new point on your resumé.
Crying.
Struggle,
Money grows tight. Opinions everywhere;
A new point on your resumé.
Depressed.
Low point,
Reach out in fear.
Call in every favor;
“Great resumé, no openings”
No breaks.
