This Place Is Not The Place
Poetry
Have you ever bathed in green shadows
and wished you could just be this forever
— only to return to the hell of grey and burning
sunshine,
the haunted concrete of your brain
Have ever tried to pry
those thoughts
from the corners
where they hide
Have you ever found it —
the place which is not the
place where you can find
the place but instead is the place
which that place sits behind
Have you ever wanted to just descend those
sweet cool steps
and stay there, for a while
Have you ever found the peace that
lurks there, trying to be kind
