Perhaps it was the purple sand, or was it?
Maybe it was from how much I was lit.
I drowned my sorrows with way too much wine.
A plain defense to diminish my shine.

Then a thought that I ought end my torment.
I had not sought any of this dement.
No words to speak, no battles to be won.
Decision made, one more deed to be done.

The lake had a bright shine, so unlike mine.
Dawn, a mist so fine; I saw her, so divine.
How she did shine from the water’s design.
Besotted by her; one last sip of wine.

She flung her hair around and water sprayed.
Her sultry body enticed and beckoned.
Eager to meet my death escort, so fine.
Submerged now with my silvery undine.

This is my response for the Parts Unknown prompt:
Where in the worlds are we?
A lake that shimmers like liquid silver, with a beach of purple sand.

I love this prompt from Christine Graves in Promptly Written. Thanks also to Ravyne Hawke for this amazing writing venue and everybody else associated with Promptly Written. I am so honored to be a Writer here.
