The darkness is all around, and you cannot see your hand in front of your face. It’s heaven to try to get to sleep after an exhausting day, but a pain in the arse to get out of bed when your alarm chimes at 6am.

Another day of rolling out of bed before the birds chime and another day of work.

No typical day starts the same for Jenny. Something always seems to happen; she is notorious for spilling her coffee during the 20 minute bumper to bumper car journey. Or locking her keys in the car and having to call AA to help assist her. This happens so frequently that they know her when she calls them, answering the phone with “Hello Jenny, done it again?”

How embarrassing is that, known by the AA company for something so stupid, being able to be avoided if she didn’t have a hack of stuff to cart to and from work.

Today starts the same as any. Jenny spills her coffee on her pristine white blouse, bought just the other day after payday. She did not even question buying the white blouse or, second guessing putting it on this morning. Maybe Jenny thought today was the day that something would go right. On the bright side, she did not lock her keys in the car!

Arriving at the car park at 7am, she is a few minutes later than she would have liked. The car door moans as she opens it to get out, not realising that a car is pulling into the car park next to her. It’s one of those electric cars that make no noise whatsoever.

SMASH, the door flies off the hinges and smashes into the wall of the parking building.

“YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!” Jenny yells at the top of her lungs. The person in the car gets out. It’s not until he stands next to her that she realises it’s her boss.

“Right, you need to be looking when you just fling your door open,” her boss states.

“Maybe you should get a car that makes noise next time,” she yells at him.

Jenny’s eyes cast upon her boss’s brown dress shoes, probably worth a fortune. Black suit pants, unique brown belt, purple shirt with a black suit jacket. Slowly she makes her way up to his face, freshly shaven, brown hair slicked back, blue eyes sparkling in the dim light from the parking building. He is the most amazing man she has ever laid eyes on. One day she thought, I would love to call him mine.

“Jenny, how the hell are we going to sort this?”

“I cannot call AA. I have no more claims left.” No way will she tell him that she used them all due to continuously locking her keys in the car; that would just be adding to the situation.

“Quickly, let’s get into my office, and we will talk about this there. I will call the insurance and get this sorted.”

She is gobsmacked that he knew her name. Despite him being her boss, he never knows anyone’s name. Stunned, she doesn’t realise that he is already halfway across the parking building heading to the office door ‘’Lester and co’. Picking up all her things, she goes to close the door, obviously missing it as it is not even attached to the car anymore. Unsure what will happen next, she quickly runs to catch up to him in her high heels, looking like a bit of a dick as she stumbles to catch up.

What will happen next?!
