Bright waves pale moonlight
and a thousand happy ghosts
see me on my way

to happier times
where strange galaxies collide
behind hope-heavy

eyes closed I walk far
the road filled with gray courage
whose friendship leads me

home among the trees
whose gentle fallen petals
speak of summer’s end

where journeys wind down
like old sorrows that die when
winter settles in

coffee makes me so, so happy
