Another month has rolled by and as we find ourselves reading and writing more and more outside on park benches, at the beach or while sat at outdoor tables enjoying an iced drink, it seems as though you are all being inspired by the world around you and happily it is showing up in our pages.

Summer months for me see a slowing down of my personal writing but an increase in losing myself in the words of others. Perhaps you go through a similar process? I no longer see it as a loss of inspiration, but a time of gathering inward. I allow myself to drink in the thoughts of others, their worlds and ideas, and give myself time to just enjoy and ponder and journal. It’s a time of writing for myself rather than others and it inevitably leads to a richer outpouring as the autumn draws closer.

If you are feeling a slowing and are seeking some inspiration we have you covered both monthly and weekly thanks to the fabulous prompts of Dr. Casey Lawrence and Bella Smith ⭐ but remember to read and engage with other writers while you’re here!

Also please check out Casey’s piece on using art as a prompt device to give you access to a whole world of visual prompts you may never have accessed before.
