Your Top Writers For September at Promptly Written!
The best work of the month as voted for by you
I know that I’ve probably said this before but October really is one of my favourite writing months of the year. It feels like it was made for us. The air sharpens, the days shorten, and suddenly the world itself seems to be constantly whispering prompts.
The trees are in the middle of their great shedding, reminding us of the beauty in letting go; the evenings stretch long enough to light a candle, wrap in a blanket, and finally give ourselves over to the page. There’s something about October’s in-between space — not quite the blaze of summer, not yet the hush of winter — that invites reflection, play, and a little mischief.
No wonder storytellers lean into the shadows this month, exploring fear, magic, memory, and transformation. It’s a season that feels like a metaphor waiting to be written. I can’t wait to read your work and set aside some extra time to get my own pen to page!
To our new writers and readers, welcome — and to those who have been patiently engaging, commenting, and reading throughout the past month, thank you for your presence and generosity.
The staff don’t choose favourites here — that privilege belongs to you — so let’s see whose work has resonated most…
