You’re Me And I Am You

A short poem about the you that never leaves you

I’m a creative machine.

Watch me do my thing —
Watch me,
Watch me spell, dream,

Scream!

Dance my way out of this matrix prison scene.

I don’t want to be like you.
And you don’t want to be like me, clearly,

Controlled by boys, men
Now, then & everything in between
Your mind must be a zoo.

Mine too.

Let me do my thing —
Let go of my tired ears and sing your own tune!

You already do.

It’s 2:30, beginning of June,
Nesting on the deck of my own truth,
Looking down at you above the scene
Engraved with a lucky number 13 —

Spinning webs and drinking black tea with ice cubes.

You’re me and I am you.
