This was a week of travel for me while David and Keith worked on continuing to build out the final architecture for crypto-fiat and AMP (Hey! New name! Announcement to follow shortly). We have been having numerous debates and conversation clarifying exactly while continuing to onboard new development talent (If you know anyone who excels in React/Solidity/Node.js send me an email at email@example.com).
After some preliminary test-net deployments we have made some modifications and are working on some models on the crypto-economics of the contract ecosystem. It has been a seriously hardcore last few weeks of planning and aligning our roadmap with realistic expectations. I will continue to post here about our ongoing processes in hiring, architecting, testing, deploying, and yelling at each other.
One other area that we have been investigating is the philosophy of decentralization vs centralization. In order to really balance out usability, disintermediation, and stability we have to figure out which aspects we should keep on-chain (solidity) or inside our own databases. Likewise, once we throw in client vs server side as well, the architecture discussions start to become more philosophical instead of technical or mathematical. This is a really important aspect of blockchain development that often goes neglected but we will try to inform and justify any decisions we make here.
Now, I am happy to announce that we have brought on a new lead developer who is helping us recruit, architect, and build our products and brings over a decade of technical experience to our team and will help us to update our processes and flat out just be a good influence around the office. He will be posting a personal intro soon so more on that later as well. We are also bringing more talent on board and I will be doing a more comprehensive post once we are through all the dotted-t’s and crossed eyes.
Anyway, that is the weekly update for January 26th. Happy New Year MO+1 and stay tuned!
