The Supreme court lifts sports betting restrictions in the US

Great news for everybody interested and somehow involved with the gambling industry. The Supreme Court of the United States struck down the federal law that prohibits sports gambling.

Previously Nevada was the only state where a person could wager on the results of a single game, according to the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act adopted back in 1992. Now each state can choose for its own and legalize betting on sports. New Jersey, Delaware, Mississippi, New York, Pennsylvania and West Virginia are going to offer legal sports betting very soon.

“A great day for the rights of states and their people to make their own decisions. New Jersey citizens wanted sports gambling and the federal Gov’t had no right to tell them no” — commented the 55th Governor of New Jersey Chris Christie in his Twitter.
