COZ Presents the Neon Wallet Roadmap

--

What to expect in the upcoming updates of our self-custodial wallet

We are just a few days away from the official launch of Neon 3, the most advanced version of our self-custodial wallet. Since its creation as the first light wallet in the Neo ecosystem, our mission has been to deliver a smooth and enjoyable experience by combining the most modern technologies with an elegant and functional design. Our philosophy remains the same, but Neon certainly does not. Since its launch, it has undergone numerous improvements, and its third generation is here to show that it is ready for the new era of Web3.

See the main features that will be launched in version 3.0.0 and what to expect in the coming months. Soon available for download — https://www.coz.io/essential-suite

Launch Features

Product Redesign
We’ve completely rebuilt Neon Wallet Desktop from the ground up. The new design structure supports the modern blockchain ecosystem with scoped protocol workspaces, cross-chain compatibility, and an enhanced user experience.

Common Platform Code
The Neon platform now utilizes a shared software architecture and codebase. This unified approach allows us to quickly roll out features across all current and future wallet products.

Multi-Wallet Architecture
Neon can manage all your blockchain wallets and accounts from a single interface, making it easier than ever to keep track of your assets.

Enhanced Interface Customization
Desktop wallet users can now enjoy account customization features previously exclusive to mobile users. Label your accounts and personalize the interface to suit your needs.

Global Login
Say goodbye to complex login workflows. With a single master password, you can easily access the entire platform, simplifying multi-wallet coordination.

Account Import Scanning
Importing a mnemonic into Neon Wallet now triggers a network scan for transactions on all derived accounts across supported protocols. View your transaction history with ease.

Improved WalletConnect Experience
We’ve streamlined the WalletConnect 2 interface to support cross-chain needs. COZ has the longest-running production deployment of WalletConnect 2, and we’ve incorporated valuable insights from our experience.

Ethereum Support
Neon Wallet now fully supports Ethereum, including BIP-44 key derivation and import. Access your Ethereum accounts and ecosystem dApps alongside your other blockchain accounts.

Neo X Integration
Support for Neo X testnet and mainnet is now available, including mnemonic key derivation and key exchange with Metamask. WalletConnect for Neo X is also fully supported.

What's Next?

NFI Skins
Target: Q3 2024
This feature will enhance account customization by allowing users to apply custom skins to their account cards based on their NFI token holdings. For example, if a user account owns a OneBand, a card skin will be selectable with a unique design. Accounts with multiple NFI holdings will be able to select from a list of unlocked skins.

Ledger Multi-Account Support
Target: Q3 2024
This feature reintroduces support for multiple accounts on Ledger hardware wallets, iterating over the BIP-44 index field. It supports indexing on all networks, allowing users to manage and create accounts easily. When a ledger is connected, the wallet will derive and scan accounts. Users will be given the opportunity to selectively import or derive new accounts.

Atomic Swaps
Target: Q3 2024
Native Flamingo integrations are coming to all wallet products, allowing users to execute swaps directly from their wallets without leaving the application.

GAS Atomic Swaps
Target: Q4 2024
This feature will integrate the Neo N3/X — GAS bridge within our wallets, facilitating seamless linking between the primary and sidechain.

Account Sync
Target: Q4 2024
Introducing optional wallet syncing across all products, this feature will allow you to add wallets, update account settings, and sync contacts securely across products. Self-custodial backup is also included.

Cross-Chain Atomic Swaps
Target: Q4 2024
This enhancement will support cross-chain atomic swaps through Flamingo and other partners, allowing you to swap N3 NEO/GAS with Ethereum USDT directly within Neon Wallet.

Accounting Core Features
Target: Q1 2025
Neon will receive an upgraded transaction history export feature with new enhancements such as transaction tagging, annotating, and linking. Manage your on-chain experience and accounting with ease using our cross-chain, multi-wallet platform.

Identity
Target: Q2 2025
Self-custodial identity management is crucial for cross-chain functionality and regulatory compliance. We’re implementing features that empower users and dApps to manage verifiable claims securely.

Fiat Ramp
Target: Q2 2025
Addition of a low-fee fiat ramp alongside our accounting and identity features. This integration will be exposed to dApps, significantly expanding the available wallet features for decentralized applications.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to enhance Neon Wallet to meet the evolving needs of the blockchain community. Your feedback is invaluable to us as we strive to deliver the best possible experience.
