N3 Ledger Integration Update
(September 10, 2021)
WARNING: Currently, there is no Neo N3 ledger integration or migration workflow for ledger users. DO NOT attempt ledger migration until there is a formal communication from an OFFICIAL CHANNEL (listed below).
As the migration to Neo N3 from Neo Legacy progresses, the COZ team has been actively coordinating with the Ledger team to release the following:
- New Ledger application for Neo N3 (Ledger Nano S/X)
- Neon Wallet w/ Neo N3 Ledger support
- Neon Wallet migration support for Ledger users
This update will present the current state of that work for community tracking.
Current Activities:
- COZ has mitigated the outstanding wallet issue. This issue impacts the User Experience and does not impact the ability to safely migrate assets or tokens. We will cut a second RC and resume UAT with some regression testing.
- Ledger is finishing the security audit of the ledger application for release.
As of September 10, 2021:
- COZ has cut a Neon Wallet(desktop) release candidate and completed UAT with one non-critical defect.
- The COZ and Ledger team have completed functional checkout of the Neo N3 Ledger application.
As of September 6, 2021:
- COZ has provided a functional implementation of the Neo N3 Ledger application firmware to the Ledger team.
- COZ has provided a Neon Wallet implementation with Neo N3 Ledger support to the Ledger team for testing.
- The Ledger team has verified that they are able to use the provided firmware with the wallet to issue transactions on the network.
We have identified a number of countermeasures for Ledger users that will ensure they are able to participate in early migration if a release is not available by the deadline.
