Users of Neon Wallet (Desktop) ≥ v2.10.0 (link) will find a new feature in their wallets which allows them to connect to dApps using WalletConnect 2.0. This functionality also enables the ability to vote with both traditional keys and hardware wallets.

To vote in Neon Wallet, simply follow the process below:

  1. Visit our WalletConnect enabled quickvote site at quickvote.coz.io. This site is temporary as we finalize WalletConnect integration with the Neo Governance Portal.
  2. Click on the “Connect Wallet” button to be presented with the connection QR code. For this workflow, click the “copy to clipboard” text at the bottom of the overlay.
  3. In Neon Wallet, navigate to the “dApps” feature in the top right of the “Wallet” tab.

4.Click either the “Connect” or “+” buttons which appears on-hover to be presented with the connection overlay.

5. Paste the code copied in step (2) into the “Scan or Paste URL” field and follow the prompts to initialize the connection.

6. Return to the quickvote dApp and select your candidate from the dropdown which is available now that you have created a wallet connection. Clicking “Vote” will prompt you with a transaction confirmation on Neon Wallet. Follow the prompts to sign and relay the transaction.

Note: If you are using a hardware wallet, you will need to enable custom transactions on the ledger prior to signing the transaction. Follow this short tutorial to enable the functionality.

We look forward to expanding the WalletConnect infrastructure to other dApps in the future and hope that you’ll consider voting for the COZ consensus node!
