We are excited to announce our new venture capital fund: Proof of Capital

Together, we have been investing, advising, and building companies for decades in both the blockchain, and mobile internet industry. The three of us are now coming together to partner with purpose-driven entrepreneurs who are building meaningful companies that will drive long term societal change across the world.

We believe that real mainstream adoption of applications in this space will first come from emerging countries and Asia where the populations are digitally native, challenges are more acutely felt, and existing infrastructure is less developed.

Proof of Capital will focus on supporting founders who share our ethos and global perspective. A few of the market areas we are most excited about are fintech (payment, remittance, custody, wallet), infrastructure (security, privacy and identity), hardware and consumer layers of the blockchain ecosystem.

In addition to capital, we will also actively support our portfolio companies through customer and business development, marketing, branding, and help build strategic partnerships focusing on distribution. With that, we are proud to announce our partnership with the HTC Exodus, the world’s very first phone that empower users to own their private keys via a native secure enclave built into the phone. Together with Proof of Capital, we have deep experience in the hardware layer of the blockchain ecosystem with products that reach hundreds of millions of people and key distribution into the mobile layer of the blockchain ecosystem.

Phil Chen
Phil Chen is the Decentralized Chief Officer at HTC and original creator of the HTC Vive and HTC Exodus product lines. He was previously a managing partner at Presence Capital and advisor to Horizons Ventures. He sat on the board of over 15 companies around the world including Improbable, Soul Machines, and Kneron, among others.

Chris McCann
Chris McCann previously founded and led the community program at Greylock Partners, early investors of Facebook, LinkedIn, Airbnb, Dropbox, Coinbase, and more. Chris invested in numerous blockchain networks, including early positions in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Binance, 0x, Stellar, Solana, etc. He co-founded the media company StartupDigest (acquired by TechStars) and created RelayNode, one of the largest media publications covering the blockchain industry covering Silicon Valley and major tech hubs worldwide.

Edith Yeung
Edith Yeung is a venture capitalist, technology executive, and the creator of the China Internet Report. As the China partner at 500 Startups, Edith invested in more than 40 cross-border mobile, AI and blockchain startups including Silk Labs (acquired by Apple), Fleksy (acquired by Pinterest), Human (acquired by Mapbox), AISense, DayDayCook, AppOnBoard, Hooked, Oasis Labs, Stellar, Solana, Cocos-BCX, Palantir, etc. Edith also worked with many Fortune 500 companies including Siebel, AMS, AT&T Wireless and Autodesk.
