Proof of Impact is Hiring: Ethiopia Project Lead, based in The Netherlands
Proof of Impact has teamed up with Cordaid and the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs to explore innovative models tracking impact events conducted at the level of district hospitals in Ethiopia, and selling those outcomes directly to impact investors.
The Ethiopia Project Lead
We are seeking a multi-skilled project manager and business developer who will champion the implementation of an innovative impact verification & financing model, turn it into a successful project and use it as a springboard for future growth. The Project Lead needs significant leadership, management and international development experience, a demonstrated track record in successfully managing large donor funded projects, a commitment to innovation, and confidence with exponential technology.
The requirements
- Manage the relationships with Cordaid and Minbuza — in The Netherlands and Ethiopia;
- Plan and manage all elements of the project, from concept and idea generation through development, production and implementation;
- Define, plan and oversee the implementation on the ground in Ethiopia;
- Identify, analyse and resolve problems timeously;
- Manage all budgeting, costing and reporting for this project;
- Design recommendations & solutions and implement them effectively;
- Develop a partner management strategy and processes, from global and local perspectives;
- Articulate and champion a Business development strategy with identification of priority prospects, action plan and budget;
- Support business and technical innovation and product improvements;

- Experience or proven interest in performance based financing models and/ or impact investing;
- Practical experience working with Cordaid or similar organization, ideally in international settings;
- Experience managing large grants;
- Tech savviness, good understanding of tech in general — some familiarity with blockchain technology would be great;
- A willingness to “get their hands dirty”;
- Open to explore, travel and interact with people from all over the world;
- The confidence to proactively grasp problems/challenges/opportunities when even if they are not direct responsibilities;

Qualitative Measures in the first 6 months:
Successfully manage the implementation of the PBT Ethiopia project. Success includes:
- A clear implementation road map agreed with all stakeholders;
- Quality of implementation — speed / processes / scoping / client satisfaction;
- Ensure quality of events to be tokenized;
- Successful client facing data management system;
- Develop at least one funder-facing product based on tokenized events;
